Maria welcomed the Secretary of State for Education announcement on funding to improve the condition of school buildings for Basingstoke’s Queen Mary's College.
Further guidance and information can be found at: www.gov.uk/guidance/condition-improvement-fund.
Maria said, “Basingstoke’s schools have been transformed over the past decade, up from just 52% rated good or outstanding in 2010. Today 9 out of 10 schools are rated good or outstanding.
This additional investment from the Government ensures that that pupils have a safe, well-maintained, and high-quality facilities to study in.”
Queen Mary's College project is part of the £110,025,987 funding awarded for the South East region. Further details of funding at project-level will be published at a later date to avoid influencing the local commercial tender processes before that point.
