Local MP Maria Miller called in at Winklebury Infant and Junior Schools recently, as part of her programme of regular visits to Basingstoke Schools.
Maria had a meeting with the Federation’s Head Teacher Sarah Mathlin and newly appointed Deputy Head Teacher Emma Humphrey to discuss latest developments at the schools. She also had a meeting with members of the School Council, and Teacher Natalie Coult. Two members of the School Council then gave Maria a tour of the Infant School.
Maria said: “I was very pleased to visit the Winklebury Federation and catch up on recent developments, including meeting the new leadership at the Schools. The members of the School Council had some excellent questions for me, and it was also a pleasure to hear about their high aspirations for secondary school and future careers.”
