Basingstoke MP Maria Miller was delighted to visit the new Primary School in Rooksdown recently, which opened in September 2015. The school is the Rooksdown campus of Castle Hill Primary School.
Head Teacher John Martin welcomed Maria and showed her around the School. Afterwards, Maria spent some time with children in the Reception Class.
Maria said: “I was really pleased to see the new school now that it has been completed. I had last visited the school in February 2015 while it was being constructed and it is fantastic to see how it has been developed into an exciting and modern learning environment.”
“Hampshire County Council is making a very significant investment to increase the capacity of Basingstoke Schools, with around £28 million being invested up to 2017. This is such an important part of the infrastructure needed to support housing development and growth in our town.”
