Basingstoke MP, Maria Miller, recently visited Winklebury Junior School, where she spoke with members of the School Council and received a tour of the school from the Head Boy and Head Girl.
Maria said, “I was really glad to visit Winklebury Juniors again and to field questions on Parliament and the role of MPs more generally, as well as specifically what I do in Basingstoke as its MP. In particular, and understandably, the children raised many questions about the ongoing war in Ukraine. I hope the conversation helped to reassure their concerns and encourage their continued engagement with this incredibly important issue.
"I am also grateful to Headteacher, Mrs Mathlin, and to the Head Boy and Head Girl for their excellent tour of the school, so that I could see all the latest developments going on at Winklebury Juniors."
