Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently visited Basingstoke Employment Plus which is a drop in centre welcoming anyone who needs help finding a job. The drop in is run by The Salvation Army.
Maria Commented; “ It was wonderful to visit the Basingstoke Employment Plus Drop In, which helps 1500 jobseekers per year. The centre offers help with CVs, interview practice and IT Training and also provides help and advice to those seeking work. Speaking to jobseekers at the centre demonstrated how beneficial it is to have help and encouragement in such a welcoming and informal setting. One of the attendees who had been helped into work now comes in to offer support now that he is retired. The service is confidential and I would encourage anyone who is seeking work to drop in to this wonderful community facility.”
Basingstoke Employment Plus is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30-12.30 at The Salvation Army Basingstoke Corps in Wessex Close.
