Local MP Maria Miller was delighted to be invited to officially open two new outdoor facilities at Rucstall Primary School in Black Dam on Friday 12 July. Watched by the children, parents, teachers and governors, Maria cut the ribbon to open an exciting adventure trail facility, and again, helped by one of the children, the Early Years mud kitchen.
Maria had met earlier with Headteacher Ruth Griffiths, for a catch up on latest developments at the school and future plans.
Maria said: “ It was a pleasure to be able to visit Rucstall Primary School again, and join them in celebrating these wonderful new outdoor facilities, which are a fantastic addition to the school, and a great way of getting children to be more active and get more exercise.”
“I was interested to see how the School has invested some of its School Sports Premium in the outdoor adventure trail – the Premium is funded by Government to significantly increase children’s activity levels as a lasting legacy of hosting the London 2012 Olympic Games.”
