Basingstoke’s MP, Maria Miller met with Chiltern Way Academy Trust, the new multi-academy trust set to take over the Austen Academy, Ashwood Academy and Coppice Springs School, to discuss how they will work to turn these schools around to achieve ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted reports.
Maria said, “I was pleased to hear from Chiltern Way Academy Trust (CWAT) Chief Executive, Ian McCaul, that the Trust is on track to formally takeover the schools in April this year.
“I have continually pressed the need for all specialist provisions to provide children with the best possible education and care, including bringing the Minister for Schools to visit Ashwood Academy in September 2019 to show the importance of a nurturing, alternative provision.
“I want every school in Basingstoke to be rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, which is particularly important for schools supporting children with additional needs to achieve their potential”
